Our History
In 2002, Chuck Young recognized that maintaining his high standards for his work as a project manager in commercial floorcovering would require a unique vision and the independence of self-employment. He set out to create a new brand of flooring dealer — one that could take on any project, from repairs to multi-million dollar new construction ventures, with the same consistency in workmanship and service. He envisioned partnerships with employees and subcontractors that would enrich his industry as well as his community, and then he carefully assembled his team.
From rather humble beginnings in the Young's fourth bedroom and a desk made from an old door, Division 9 grew at astonishing rates for six straight years. Lean management and a constant focus on improvement, as well as the synergy of some of the best-qualified individuals in the industry, allowed the company to take on the unlimited opportunities of a prosperous economy with great success.
Today, the result of Mr. Young's vision and the efforts of his team is an accomplished organization of talented and committed individuals, working together to promote Division 9's core values of safety, service, integrity, innovation, and sustainability.
