The Montlake Rebuilding Together project home belongs to a woman named Louise who has lived there for 50 years. She was unable to manage upkeep on her home and the stairs were in rough shape.

Turne Construction MEP Engineer Jonelle Tuffs says “ Over time, the carpet on her front steps had become worn, moss-ridden, and slippery. The carpet on the inside was in terrible shape and presented a major trip hazard as well ‐ it was worn to the threads, buckling, and torn on nearly every step. Louise had placed small area rugs over the steps to cover the look but it created an even greater tripping hazard.” Division 9 Flooring and Turner Construction teamed up to outfit and install new carpeting on the stairs inside and outside of Louise’s home.
