Division 9 Flooring helps puts Yesler Terrace Redevelopment on the map.
Yesler Terrace in Seattle is getting some long overdue attention. According to Spectrum Development Solutions, the redevelopment of Yesler Terrace is the most ambitious neighborhood revitalization in Seattle history. The community was developed by the Seattle Housing Authority in the 1940’s as Seattle’s first publicly subsidized housing. It became evident that 580 housing units were beyond repair and needed replacing. A 290 million dollar renovation is under way that will add parks, renovated thoroughfares, pedestrian walking paths and energy efficient housing for all incomes.
The Yesler Terrace Renovation will be complete by the end of 2016. Anthem on 12th is a six story 120 unit apartment building. It’s the first private development piece of the renovation, with market rate and workforce housing. Anthem on 12th has incredible views of Mount Rainier you can enjoy from a rooftop BBQ and fire pit. They also offer an off leash dog area and a bike storage and repair station. They offer studios and one and two bedrooms. If you don’t have a car, you can always hop the Seattle First Hill Street Car coming to the neighborhood. If you’re environmentally conscience, rest easy, Anthem on 12th is targeting LEED Gold Certification.
According to the Seattle Housing Authority the new Yesler Terrace will feature up to:
- 4.3 million square feet of housing in 5,000 units
1,800 subsidized homes for low and moderate-income residents - 65,000 square feet for neighborhood services
- 1.8-acre central park, three pocket parks, half-mile “Green Street” loop and one acre for community gardening
- 88,000 square feet of retail space
- 900,000 square feet of office space
- 5,100 parking spaces to serve residents, office workers, retail customers and neighborhood visitors
Division 9 Flooring is proud to be a part of the Yesler Terrace community renovation project and we’re also very proud of our work at Anthem on 12th.
